Reading Notes: Tales of Anansi, Part A
This week I decided to try reading stories from the tiny tales. This one is called the "Tales of Anansi". The stories originate from the Caribbean's and involve a spider trickster named Anansi. I think most of the stories in part A involve tricking a tiger. Although there are other stories that involve tricking a monkey and other animals as well. Sometimes the tiger is able to trick Anansi.
The stories I liked the most were the ones where it would explain why an animal looks the way it does in the end or why an animal lives where it lives.
11. Tiger Helps Anansi to Get Meat
- This explains why spiders have a white underbelly
22. Anansi Helps Tiger Take a Bath
- This explains why spiders live on rooftops.
23. Anansi's Family on the Rooftop
- This explains why spiders live in trash.
38. Monkey Wears Anansi's New Suit
- This explains why monkeys act foolish.
42. Anansi and the Tree Branches
- This explains why spiders weave webs.
I might create my own story explaining why tigers have stripes.
